I agree that Social Security belongs to the people who have worked hard all their lives and contributed to it. Social Security does not belong to politicians in Washington to be used as a piggy bank.
The "Super Committee," in Congress, which was established as part of the debt deal, should keep its hands off Social Security. Social Security does not contribute a penny to the deficit. It should not be cut to reduce the deficit.
We need to strengthen Social Security, not cut it. That is why I oppose any cuts to Social Security benefits, including raising the retirement age or lowering the cost of living adjustment (COLA).
I promise to support candidates who protect Social Security from any and all cuts by the "Super Committee" and promise to vote out members of Congress who vote to cut America's promises.
